Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss

I feel pretty silly writing a little "review" about Dr. Seuss' "Green Eggs and Ham", but the "E's Pick of the Week" is all about what E is reading and this week he is Seuss crazy. We are reading "Green Eggs and Ham" a few times a day. I am starting to hear Seuss rhymes in my head instead of music. Ahhhh! :D

Seriously though, I love that E is so book crazy. He went to the library this weekend for the first time in a loooong time and he went crazy. THE LIBRARY THE LIBRARY MOOOOM! :D I'm curious.. to the moms out there reading, do you just go in, grab some books and leave or do you stay and read a book at the library? They had a cute little reading area.

Sorry for such a light "E's Pick of the Week", but I'll be back next week with more from my little two and a half year old reader.

Hop on Pop by Dr. Seuss

E’s Pick of this Week is another book that doesn’t really need an introduction, it’s “Hop on Pop” by Dr. Seuss. Honestly, I could blather on and on about how awesome it is, but if you haven’t been living under a rock for the past 50 years, you’ve heard of it. It’s adorable. I love changing up the pacing to keep it fresh. E thinks it’s hilarious when I try to go really fast then flub. It’s fun. Get it today.

“Hop on Pop” is available in board book (abridged version, which is what we have), hardcover, and audiobook (read by David Hyde Pierce) form. It is published by Random House Books for Young Readers.

Go, Dog. Go! by Dr. Seuss

Today’s Pick of the Week comes from the classics - it’s “Go, Dog. Go! ” by Dr. Seuss. We purchased this book just a few days ago and it’s been read at least 5 times a day since. E just loves it. He’s really interested in letters and reading right now and this book is perfect. The phrases are memorable and short, giving him a chance to really study them letter by letter. Plus.. it has DOGS, CARS, AND BIKES, OH MY! ;D Oh and there are dogs swinging on the last page (spoiler, haha!). It doesn’t get much better than that.

We’re so excited that a lot of great shorter Dr. Seuss books are being released in board book form. They’re so fun to read with our little guy. Just look for the Dr. Seuss display at your local bookstore.

"Go, Dog. Go!" is published by Random House Books for Young Readers and is available in board book, rag book, and hardcover.

E's Pick of the Week - Oh, the THINKS You Can Think!

This week's book for E's Pick of the Week is another classic - Dr. Seuss' "Oh, the THINKS You Can Think!". We have this little book in board book form and E just adores it. He actually used the word "again" for the first time to let us know he wanted to read it again. How cute is that? We have a lot of fun with this one. We make the "z" on zong as long as it takes to trace the tail, we move left and right, and we just act like big ol' goofs. Who doesn't act a little goofy when reading Dr. Seuss' rhymes? My husband and I both love reading this one to E. It's short and fun!

The board book version is awesome because it makes the book last a lot longer and it's small. It's really easy for him to manipulate and "read" on his own. It is also available in hardcover and paperback.

Go get a copy at your local bookstore or online today. It's a short and fun book that the whole family will enjoy.
