In My Mailbox - Saturday February 4th

Photo from uglymailbox.com

Doing my IMM a day early so I don't forget. Tomorrow is a busy day! My husband obliged me again this week with my silly photo antics. In fact, he actually came up with some of the ideas. Go awesome hubby! So here you go... this is what arrived in my mailbox this week.

Note: Please excuse my icky hair. I'm growing it out.

I can't hear you. I'm too busy listening to these books.
Are they still there? ;)
Hrmmm...

Mwahahaha. Going to mad scientist school has finally paid off. I will PLANT "Dreamless" by Josephine Angelini and it will grow to become BOOK 3. I AM A GENIUS. (Don't worry, the book didn't get a bit of dirt on it. We're tricksy like that.)

Books Received this week:
- Dreamless by Josephine Angelini (read my review of "Starcrossed")
-Harbinger by Sara Wilson Etienne
- Chained by Lynne Kelley

That's it from me this week. Be sure to visit my review of "Midnight in Austenland" and tell me who your favorite Austen gentleman (or heroine!) you prefer. I'll choose one lucky lady or gent at random to get their own copy of the book. :)

In My Mailbox - January 15th, 2012

Oo! This week was a fun one. Finally, my mail box was hoppin' with books. The holidays were so quiet that going to the mail box was a bit of a bummer. Glad to be back on track!

ARCs or finished copies from the publisher:
- "Girl Meets Boy" anthology
- "Unraveling" by Elizabeth Norris (a debut author who will be on the Authors are ROCKSTARS!)
- "A Million Suns" by Beth Revis (who will be on the podcast next month!)

Netgalley:
- "Goddess Interrupted" by Aimee Carter (see my review of "The Goddess Test")
- "Scarlet" by A.C. Gaughen (okay this came in last week, but I didn't do an IMM.)

I also purchased the following books as gifts, because I'm an awesome sister:
- "Unearthly" by Cynthia Hand (see my review)
- "Entwined" by Heather Dixon (see my review)

It's been a busy week. Books and voice over jobs rolling in. Oh! Interviewing Andrea Cremer. How could I forget that? Whoo! In case you're not a follower of the Authors are ROCKSTARS! podcast, I recommend you head over there right now. This year is going to be amazing. So far, we have already interview Tahereh Mafi and Andrea Cremer (will be up this week). We also already have a bunch of amazing debut authors that will be coming on the program, plus Beth Revis, Lauren McLaughlin, Gene Yang, Anna Carey, Josephine Angelini, Maureen Johnson, Gretchen McNeil, and moooooore. Amazing line up, right? I told you so! Go follow us over on our blog page or subscribe on iTunes.

Anyways, that's enough blabbering from me. I'll be back tomorrow with the usual...another goofy review. ;o)

In My Mailbox - November 27th!

Hi folks! I haven't done this in awhile, but I just had to share because I am SO excited. Seriously, I was so excited that getting my new car elicited less of a happy dance. (Yes, I happy dance. My husband tells me that my dances remind him of Tina Fey's character Liz Lemon on 30 Rock. I take that as a compliment because she is AWESOME. Hehe!)

It's been a quiet few weeks for me as I recover from everything that is going on. I haven't been reading as much as usual (only one book a week.. GASP!), but I'm getting back into the swing of things now.

Anyways... moving on to IMM and me making all of you jealous! ;)

I KNOW RIGHT!?!?! You should have seen my Liz Lemon-esque happy dance when this arrived. I have already dived in, but am trying to savor it which is SO HARD. OMG I WANT TO KNOOOOOW. I am totally a Shay gal, but man... that Ren is getting more and more appealing. Who do you guys like? :) Share your thoughts!

Also - new visitors, be sure to check out my anniversary giveaway prize announcement from earlier this week.

Until next time... ;)

In My Mailbox - 9/11/11

I'll keep this short and sweet. The only book in my mailbox this week was "Shut Out" by Kody Keplinger. I already shared the book trailer on here on Wednesday since I did the voice over for it. You can find that post here. Let me know what you think! I'm really looking forward to reading this on my way to KidLitCon next weekend!

That reminds me - let me know if you'll be attending KidLitCon! Allison and I will be presenting on Saturday about podcasting as well as doing a special Authors are ROCKSTARS! podcast. I can't wait! Now, to start packing. Gah! I am a t-shirt & jeans kinda gal, so dressing up always causes me headaches. I'm sure I'll figure it out though. Can my "TARDamask" shirt be dressy enough? It looks super cute with a skirt (I got the scoop neck version).

Anyways, enough rambling from me. See you next time! Oh and don't forget to sign up for my monthly giveaway. There are SO many awesome book choices this month.

A very quick IMM vlog - 8-28-11

Excuse my lack of makeup... E has been sick all weekend, so I'm exhausted. Poor kiddo. I kept blocking his face with the book.

In My Mailbox - August 14th, 2011

Every time I think about this meme, I want to sing the Blues Clues mail song. (Proof that I am the mother of a toddler!). My mail box was really quiet this week! So sad. :( I did get two fun books about writing though. I've finally taken the plunge and started working on my first YA novel. It's an idea I've had for a long time, but have been too scared to attempt. Speaking with all these fabulous authors though and doing the YA Rebels audition, I was just so inspired. I couldn't resist the call anymore.

Ahh! I'm writing! I'm actually at an indie coffee shop right now. I feel like such a stereotype. Haha! I found out the wine bar has wifi though. I think I may switch my babysitter's hours to afternoon so I can go there to write. Doesn't that sound like a LOT more fun?

See you around next week for another IMM. In the mean time, do not forget to sign up to win a July release. The deadline to enter is TODAY! We're also giving away three autographed books over at Authors are ROCKSTARS! Kiersten White, Stephanie Perkins and Andrea Cremer were kind enough to sign a book for our listeners when we interviewed them last month. Oh and I forgot to mention - we're now on iTunes! Go to our website for more details. You can now get the podcast directly on your iPod. Wahoo!

EDIT: I created a new blog to talk about my writing adventures. Click here and follow me! :)

In My Mailbox - August 7th

It was a quiet, but exciting week! The following books hit my mailbox:
(fun photo created in Instagram)

- Fury by Elizabeth Miles (Thank you Simon & Schuster!)
- Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins (Eeee! Thanks Penguin!)
- Guardian of the Dead by Karen Healy (Thanks Little Brown!)
- Clarity by Kim Harrington - autographed - purchased in Night of the Giving Dead auction

I also got the chance to meet Nova Ren Suma, Holly Goldberg Sloan, Suzanne Young, and Cindy Pon (well, see Cindy again!). Just posted a special edition podcast with these amazing women over at Authors are ROCKSTARS! It is a fabulous interview. They are all so inspiring! Please click the link and give it a listen. We'd love to hear from you. We're also giving away three signed books right now from Kiersten White, Stephanie Perkins, and Andrea Cremer. Pretty exciting stuff, right?

Well that's it for this week. Happy reading folks!

In My Mailbox - July 31st

In My Mailbox was created by The Story Siren. I keep seeing these posts on blogs I frequent so I decided to join in on the fun. I'll be posting these on Sundays and maybe will even vlog every now and then. Craziness!

Anyways, it was a quiet week, mailbox wise, but I still had a few wonderful books come home with me from hitting local bookstores.

Purchased online:
- The Queen's Lady by Eve Edwards (UK edition, not out in the states yet)
- Imaginary Girls by Nova Ren Suma
- A Need So Beautiful by Suzanne Young

Purchased locally:
- Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini (not pictured, but this copy is SIGNED. I'm saving it to giveaway in Dec for my blogiversary.)
- Baby Animals (iKids)
- In The Garden (iKids)
- Press Here by Herve Tullet
- Peter Rabbit Sleepy Time by Beatrix Potter
- Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney

Yes, E is a very happy camper! I just love buying him books and seeing his face light up. What can I say? He's book crazy like his parents. I'm so grateful for that.

Well that's it for this week's "In My Mailbox". Stay tuned for my giveaway post! It will hit the blog tomorrow.
